I am a painter, illustrator, maker and educator.
To me, making is an act of intention. I believe that painting allows me to create and fill spaces with beauty and meaning. My abstracted paintings reference the landscape; like our bodies, and our personal and collective stories, the landscape is marked by layers of history, by loss and healing, by the visible and invisible. I hope my work is a visual reminder of the rich archeology of our lives.
I live in the beautiful city of Oakland, California with my husband, my daughters, and our flock of backyard chickens. My studio is attached to our home, where I can look out on my succulents, our ancient orange tree and my girls jumping on the trampoline while I work.
I hold an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BA from the University of California Davis.
My CV is available upon request.
